Privacy Policy and Cookies
In short: you don't need an account to play. Your progress is saved in your own browser, and statistics and advertising cookies are only set if you consent to them. In detail:
1. Data controller
Zetti Webdesign (Geleynse 4S), email [email protected] (see the terms). This policy is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, for residents of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
2. Hosting and server logs
When you open the site, our hosting provider processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page viewed, browser). This data is required for the site to run and to stay secure, and it is deleted after a short period. The legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). The site is delivered through the Cloudflare network, which also processes technical connection data to protect the site from attacks.
3. Progress in your browser (Local Storage)
Your progress, best times, and settings (piece count, shape, sound) are saved only in your browser (Local Storage, IndexedDB). This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. To remove it, clear your site data in your browser.
4. Puzzle from your own photo
In the puzzle maker, your photo is processed only in your browser and is never sent to our servers.
5. Puzzle Plus account data
If you create a Puzzle Plus account or a free account, we store your email address, your saved puzzle progress and favorites across devices, and, if you subscribe, your billing history and invoices. Payments are handled by Mollie, a licensed payment service provider, which processes your payment details on our behalf; we do not store full card numbers ourselves. If you upload your own photos as a Plus member, those photos are stored on our servers so they can sync across your devices, unlike the free, browser-only puzzle maker described above. You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your account page; see the terms for how long photos and account data are kept after cancellation.
6. Play counter
We count how many times each puzzle is started and completed. Only the puzzle's name is transmitted, no personal data.
7. Third-party games
Some online games (solitaire, mahjong, bubble shooter) are loaded through an iframe from GameBoss. Opening these pages transmits technical data to that provider, and its own privacy policy then applies.
8. Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to see which puzzles and pages are used. Analytics only sets cookies and stores usage data after you click "Accept" in the consent banner (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Without consent, only anonymous signals are sent, with no cookies and no way to recognize you (Google Consent Mode). Google truncates IP addresses. Google may transfer data to the United States; the company is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Data is deleted after 14 months.
You can withdraw your consent at any time: via the "Privacy" link at the bottom of the page, or with the Google Analytics browser opt-out add-on.
9. Advertising
This site is funded by ads from NitroPay (Nitro Digital Media). Personalized ads and their associated cookies are only loaded after you consent through the banner (IAB TCF 2.2), managed by NitroPay's consent management platform (CMP), which also records your preferences for advertising partners in the IAB TCF framework. The banner lets you choose "Accept" or "Reject" ("Continue without accepting"); both choices are equally simple, and you can play either way. You can change your choice at any time via the "Privacy" link at the bottom of the page.
10. Cookies
Along with the data saved locally in your browser, this site may use technically necessary cookies and, only with your consent, statistics and advertising cookies as described in sections 8 and 9. Cookies used by this site or its providers may include fjp_sess (session/security, necessary), fjp_plus (keeps you signed in to a Puzzle Plus or free account, necessary once you sign in), and fjp_user (remembers non-essential preferences such as layout or sound). The banner lets you reject as easily as you can accept ("Continue without accepting"), and your choice is kept for a maximum of six months. You can manage or withdraw consent at any time through the "Privacy" link at the bottom of the page, or by removing cookies in your browser settings.
11. Email contact
If you write to us, we process your data only to respond to your message (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
12. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict the processing of, and port your data, and to object to processing. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell your personal information. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in the Netherlands, where the publisher is based, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens; in other EU/EEA countries, your national data protection authority; in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in the United States, your state attorney general's office.
