Help and Instructions
Here you'll find, in plain language, how the puzzles work, how to set up the game so it feels like the old one, and answers to the questions we get asked most often. Missing something? Write to us; the address is at the bottom of the page.
Why did the game change?
The old jigsaw puzzle game dated from a time when almost everyone played on a computer with a mouse. It was built for older devices and older browsers, and that caused more and more problems: it worked poorly or not at all on phones and tablets, progress was lost the moment you closed the page, photos looked small and blurry on modern screens, there was no full screen mode, and you couldn't go beyond a few hundred pieces. We also could no longer maintain it properly.
That's why we rebuilt the game from the ground up. What's better:
- Works everywhere: on desktop, laptop, iPad, Android tablet, and phone, with a mouse, finger, or stylus.
- Progress is saved: close the page and pick up later, for every puzzle and every piece count.
- From 24 to 1,000 pieces, with large, sharp photos and full screen.
- More choices: four piece shapes, rotation on or off, background color, sound, and pieces around the frame or scattered across the screen.
- Helpful tools: preview, edge pieces only, zoom, and fit to screen.
- Three new puzzles every day and a puzzle maker for your own photos.
We understand that a change like this takes some getting used to, especially if you've played the same way for years. That's why you can simply switch back to the old way of playing (60 pieces, everything scattered across the screen): see Play Like Before. This choice is remembered, so you only have to make it once.
