Drag the pieces: they snap together automatically when they get close to each other. Use Preview to see the image, Edges to find the border pieces first, and Full Screen to use your whole screen. Tip for Beaches and Ocean puzzles: Place palm trees, boats and lighthouses first, then the sand, and finish with the sea and sky, working steadily from light to dark through their gradient of blue. Turn on the preview image if the water gets tricky near the very end.
