- Tap or click a difference in either photo. When you are right, it is circled in both photos.
- The dots at the top show how many differences there are and how many you have found.
- Tapping a spot where there is no difference shows a red cross and counts as a mistake, without a time penalty.
- Stuck? The Hint button shows where one of the remaining differences is. Want to give up? The flag shows all remaining differences.
- Finish without hints and with few mistakes for three stars.
- Click Daily for the daily puzzle and the daily puzzles of the last two weeks.
Tips and tricks
- Scan the photos in parts. Compare the top left of both pictures first, then move across and down, so you do not skip an area.
- Look for things that are missing, not only for things that were added. A missing branch, window or stone is easy to overlook.
- Pay attention to colors. A flower, roof or piece of clothing in a different color is one of the most common differences.
- Check the edges and corners of the photos. Many players only look at the middle.
- On hard, zoom in and move slowly across the picture. Small details like handles, windows, signs and patterns often hide a difference.
- Take a short break if you cannot find the last one. Fresh eyes often spot it right away.
About Spot the Difference
Spot the difference is a classic picture puzzle: two photos that look the same at first glance, with a few hidden changes. Something has disappeared, something new has appeared, or an object has a different color. Your job is to find every difference. Some people call it find the difference or find the differences, but the idea is the same, and it is one of the most relaxing ways to train your eyes and your concentration.
Our spot the difference game uses real photos from our jigsaw puzzle collection instead of drawings: animals, flowers, landscapes, cities, gardens, trains and much more. Every difference is a real change to the photo that you can see when you compare both pictures, so there are no unfair pixel tricks. On a computer the two photos are shown side by side, on a phone and tablet they are shown one above the other, so they stay as large as possible.
Choose the level that suits you. Easy is great for kids and for a quick, relaxed game, with big and clear differences such as a bird that has flown away or a car in a new color. Normal has smaller objects and details. Hard is spot the difference for adults who like a real challenge: subtle changes like a missing window, a removed handle or a tree top in a slightly different color, spread over the whole picture. Every difference is still visible when you look closely, and you can zoom in with two fingers or the plus button.
Every day there is a new daily spot the difference puzzle for each level, numbered and the same for everyone, so you can compare your result with friends and family. Missed a day? The daily puzzles of the last two weeks stay available. When you finish a picture you get up to three stars and can share your result. Want more? Click New picture for another photo, as often as you like.
There is no time limit and no penalty for a wrong tap, and hints are always free, without ads in between. A timer shows how long you take, and you can hide it if you prefer to play without a clock. Your progress is saved automatically, and your statistics keep track of how many pictures you finished, your best time per level and your daily streak. When you finish a photo, you can also play it as a jigsaw puzzle.
